What do I do, can someone help Was just playing and closed the game. You will need to check the correct game resolution (displayed on the game start screen or right click, 'properties') and then select and save a matching or higher resolution (or perhaps a very close lower resolution).
#Mame unable to initialize direct3d drivers
Unzip: opened archive file roms\ssf2t.zip Please ensure you have DirectX 8.1 or newer installed and that your display drivers are current. MAME does not seem to be able to select the correct resolution for most games (MAME devs please note), and just runs at the default (Windows desktop) resolution. Optional memory region ':screen' not found Then it got upset because it didn't want to 'Initialize DirectX'. Five minutes of Googling fixed that, just needed to copy and paste the steam.dll to the Pirates folder. You should not have to change anything by default just to get it up and running. Try dragging a mame rom onto the mame.exe to see if it loads up. Could you please specify which ini file and what do I change the text to for GL, and will I need a GL driver? More info please In the ini folder there are examples and presets, and then a whole lot of ini files. A clone of these mame files work fine on my Windows 7 machine. I did update some drivers recently so that could explain why it worked when I first installed the app. You are right about DX9, DX is backwards compatible so DX9 should already be included with DX12. It is the same guy, I thought I'd start a separate topic because this was straying away from the original topic. As a workaround, we recommend using Direct3D or OpenGL video output for systems that. I would suggest going into you ini and specifying a video driver other than Direct X try GL if that doesn't work try GDI. Unfortunately we havent been able to address this in time for the release.
#Mame unable to initialize direct3d install
If this is the same guy I tried to help last night in a different thread he ran the DirectX end user runtime which downloads all components of DX and it told him he didn't need to install anything so missing DX9 isn't the issue.
